Varsity Rules
VARSITY RULES: 2010
This Division is intended to give 11, 12 and light 13 year olds
a chance to compete with each other. All players who will be 11,
12 and 13 years old before August 1st are eligible to participate.
All players shall participate as much as possible.
1.Quarters shall be 8 minutes in length. Each team given 3 timeouts
per half.
2.Can't hit center on punts or extra points.
3.Extra point is one point for run and two points for a kick.
4.The league has no over-all weight limit in any division but with
the following guidelines. Any players weight that's 125.9 pounds
and under may play any position. A player over 125.9
but not over 150.9 will have a orange sticker put on helmet and can play offensive
and defensive line only (end to end).
If the player is over 150.9 player will have green sticker placed on helmet and play offensive or defensive line only (tackle to tackle). If the offensive tight end has an orange sticker on helmet, the
tight end is there for blocking purposes only therefore must not
go down for any pass nor be standing (must be in a 3 or 4 point
stance and no more than 3 feet from the tackle). Its the responsibility
of the coaching staff to make sure before each game that each player
has stickers placed on helmets. 13 year olds must be in 8th grade
or below to participate. All 13 year olds must wiegh 100.9 lbs or
under to be eligible and can not play middle school ball. The official
weight for the whole year is at equipment issue.
5.All Defensive linemen tackle to tackle must be in a 3 or 4 point
stance. Offensive linemen from tackle to tackle must be in a 2,
3 or 4 point stance. If tight end has an orange sticker on helmet
than tight end must be in a 3 or 4 point stance. All linemen on
offense must be no more than 3 feet apart from each other (tackle
to tackle only) unless the tight end has an orange sticker on helmet.
6. Mandatory Play rule in the Varsity level of 8 plays per game.
This excludes special teams(kickoff, kickoff return or punts). The
Board feels all players should play as much as possible if in good
standings with team and league rules.NO BULL IN THE RING OR OKLAHOMA DRILLS.
7.No more than 6 coaches in full on sidelines for each game. All
Divisions
8.Any player with a orange sticker on helmet comes in contact
with the ball be it a fumble, interception etc. will be down at
that spot.
9.All teams will make playoffs.
10.Anytime during a game a team has a lead of 23 points or more,
the team is asked to take out their backfield or remove their top
players. Unless they don't have enough players to replace the starters,
they will then have to move the main ball carriers to other positions.
The clock will continuously run when the lead is 23 points or more.
Once the continuous clock starts, the game will stay in continuous
clock no matter if the score stays over or under the 23 points.
11.League approved ball will be the TDJ ball.
12.The League will go by the Ky High School Federation Rules unless
noted in the rules. All Divisions
